Hey, astro Lover. Welcome back to Third House Gossip. I hope you're doing really well. I made a weird decision and that decision was to reduce my coffee intake to zero. Yes. Who does that while they are writing a book? I don't know, but I guess I do. So I'm coming to you today with. A really foggy brain and um, a really hurting head, and I am gonna give myself a kind break [00:01:00] today.

I am working really hard this week on opening the So Below Society, and that coupled with writing a book and weaning off caffeine is a little bit challenging.

So today what you're gonna get is a snippet of a Nowcast, which is essentially the private podcast within the So Below Society. And I'm just gonna give you a small portion where I talk about the Taurus New Moon, which is coming up this weekend.

So if you don't know, the So Below Society is my small group of astrology lovers who are basically going to be immersed into the world of astrological transits for the next three months.

I am going to be doing weekly audios, dissecting every astrological aspect there is. We're gonna apply it to our real lives. We're gonna meet together and talk about it. We're going to be journaling and keeping records, 'cause that's how [00:02:00] you really sink into astrology and observe it in daily life.

And there's a lot of other stuff, like a transit class that I'm gonna be teaching live here in just a couple in a week or so. And, um, access to my planetary journaling class guided. All of this is open right now. I'm welcoming new members, but I'm starting to close the doors just a little bit. So we are starting on April 27th, and that is the Taurus New Moon, which is what I'm gonna talk to you about today.

And you know with me, I have Uranus on the ascendant. What that means in English is you never really know if I'm gonna do something again and when I'm gonna do it again if I decide to. So if you're interested in this, head to astrology with claire.com/so below society. The link is also in the show notes and hop on in.

We are gonna start all our now cast with [00:03:00] a roll call to just have a 10,000 foot view of where all the planets are. Starting with the moon, the moon is in its new phase and it is starting the week in the sign of Taurus. It's going to start building in light on Wednesday, and we'll come to the first quarter on Sunday.

It's gonna move through the signs of Taurus, Gemini cancer. In Leo this week. The sun is in Taurus. Mercury is in Aries. Venus is starting the week in Pisces, and then it's gonna move into Aries. Mars is in Leo, Jupiter is in Gemini. Saturn is in Pisces. Uranus is in Taurus. Neptune is an Aries, and Pluto is at the third degree of Aquarius, and it's gonna station retrograde at the end of the week.

And we'll talk all about that when we get to it. So we can tell right away from the roll call that by the end of this week, [00:04:00] four planets are gonna be in fire signs. There's gonna be quite a pile up in Aries. And then also we'll have Mars in Leo. And if you wanna count the moon at the end of the week, it'll also be in Leo and that'll be five.

So fire as an element is hot and dry, and what that does is it speeds things up and it clears things up. So it's gonna speed up the events of the week when planets are in fire signs. It also is about visibility and seeing clearly the energy is typically high. We are typically action oriented and focused on the future.

All right, let's get started with our first astrological configuration for the week. Even though I am typically going to start now, cast on a Monday, meaning the week will run from Monday to Sunday. I'm gonna go back one day, just this one time because we just had the Taurus New Moon yesterday, Sunday, April [00:05:00] 27th in North America and Europe, or Monday the 28th if you're in Australia.

So let's go back in time and talk about the Taurus New Moon, which happened at the seventh degree of Taurus. So when we're looking at a new moon or a full moon, which is also called a loo nation, we wanna look at a couple things in order to make our interpretation of what it's gonna mean. First, we wanna know if it's new or full.

If it's new, it's about beginnings. If it's full, it's about culminations and sometimes endings, we wanna look at its element and its zodiac sign. We wanna see if it's making any aspects or having relations with other planets. And we want to look to the planet that rules it, the planet that's giving it instructions for more information on what the loo nation is gonna be all about.

Now if you wanna personalize the new Moon or a full moon, you wanna first ask, what natal house is this moon occurring in? [00:06:00] And so this one's in Taurus. So you'd find Taurus in your birth chart, and that is where it's happening for you. And if you feel comfortable at that point, then you wanna ask, is it making a dynamic aspect to another planet or angle in my chart?

When I say dynamic, I mean something like a conjunction, a square, or an opposition. These are the types of aspects that create the most observable change. And so when we're learning to watch astrology and make meaning, that's usually the most, uh, the best place to start. So when you're looking for aspects, look right next to it.

Look 90 degrees away and look opposite. And in terms of degrees, you can give it a pretty wide orb, but things are gonna be really noticeable if it's within three to five degrees of your natal planet or angle. [00:07:00] So for this Taurus New Moon, when I'm saying dynamic aspect, if you have a planet in Taurus or an angle, if you have an angle or a planet in Scorpio, Leo, or Aquarius, this moon might be pivotal for you.

So check your chart. All right, let's pick this moon apart. First of all, it's new, so that means we are beginning a fresh cycle. This is about. Beginnings and looking ahead during new moons, although it can be subtle at times, there is usually an entrance of a new theme. The new moon is invisible. You can't see it.

It's dark, so it's not necessarily time to like push yourself to the max. Although there's a footnote here that I'll get to in just a little bit. It's more time to dream and plan and plant seeds. So it's a great time to get out your calendar and your journal and just think about what it is that you want to focus on for the next [00:08:00] lunar cycle.

It's also a great time to just refresh your body before the busyness of the lunar light comes back. Now let's talk about Taurus as a sign. So Taurus is an earth sign and it's fixed. So this means that it's really grounded. And it's very practical. So anytime there's a new moon and an earth sign, it's good again for laying plans, creating structures, and getting things done that just need to be done.

Now, here's where things get a little bit interesting. On Saturday, the day before the New Moon, there was a pretty big aspect, and it was a Mars Pluto opposition, and this was happening across the signs of Leo and Aquarius. This new moon is gonna be reactivating that opposition, and it's gonna be doing that via a square aspect.[00:09:00]

So we have these basic Taurus New Moon, significations, new beginnings, practical matters. Also, things like pleasure and leisure. You know, these are all Taurus themes, but it's really gonna be overcome by this tenseness that Mars and Pluto are bringing in. So let's pick it apart. So when the moon makes a square to Mars, this is really, uh, a hot tense.

Sometimes aggravating sort of relationship. It increases the speed of everything. It can heighten stress and occasionally conflict, and it can also bring in a surge of energy. And sometimes boldness is when the moon makes an aspect of Pluto. It's very similar [00:10:00] with a slight tweak. So this is a powerful aspect that gives the moon a really intense, fixated quality.

So you might notice your focus is really deep. You can't really seem to let go of something, whether it's something somebody said or if it's an idea or an activity. It's really great for going deep with one thing and seeking out the truth and taking action on, you know, truth with a capital T. When Mars and Pluto interact, we can be working ourselves really hard.

Okay? There can be an intense push on something we might find that we're kind of at our limit or our maximum. You know, I'm recording this several weeks before the So Below society is open, and I'm just looking at this calendar now and I'm noticing, you know what this. Couple days [00:11:00] before the So Below society opens might be a real push for me from a work perspective.

So just to kind of ground it down into real language, you might be really busy or working on something very hard. There can sometimes be a power struggle with another person when we have a Mars Pluto opposition. So this tourist New Moon is gonna bring that back up.

So typically when we're coming to a new Moon, we are winding down and getting ready to start something fresh, which means peeling back and resting. But that's not really the vibe I'm getting from this New Moon, especially because of this Mars Pluto opposition that will still be lingering and reactivated by the time the New Moon is exact.

So the time building up to this new moon isn't quiet. It's pretty high energy and it's pretty pushy, so if you notice, you feel like you wanna go get 'em, [00:12:00] you're right in with the flow, like go get 'em. For sure. The last piece we wanna bring in about this new Moon and Taurus is its ruler, which is Venus. And Venus at the time of the New Moon is in Pisces, and it's also making a conjunction to Saturn.

So let's back up. How did I get here? Venus rules the sign of Taurus, and so since the New Moon isn't Taurus, that means Venus rules this new Moon. And what that means in English is that the New Moon is highly influenced by Venus and what Venus wants, and it takes its directions from Venus. So even though there's a lot of pressure and intensity wrapped up in this new Moon, it's overall goal or desire is to end up and create venous things.

Which are harmony and balance and peace and [00:13:00] connection and beauty and art.

So this new moon is ultimately trying to create calm and make peace after a time of heavy exertion or perhaps even a conflict. Venus is conjunct Saturn at this time. So that's gonna bring in a few specific themes.

One is taking stock of what it is that you want and if it's still what you want. Is this thing worth your love, worth your attention, worth your effort, worth your hard work? And also coming to terms with that sometimes. Yeah. The things we want require us to roll up our sleeves and do some digging.

Sometimes when Venus and Saturn are together, it includes a simplification or a pairing down or a saying no to something, and it's a classic aspect for boundary setting and sometimes restructuring relationships. [00:14:00] This aspect is about making a commitment, but also exerting some quality control. Doing one thing with excellence instead of doing a lot of things and eliminating what really isn't worth your time and attention or love and effort.

So again, if we zoom out and put all those pieces together, there's a lot of tension surrounding this new moon. It's coming after a time period of heavy effort and maybe contention, but what what it ultimately wants is connection and peace and repair. So application, I want you to. Schedule in some proactive rest time this week because I just have a feeling that we're gonna be entering this new moon already, a little bit tired, a little bit exhausted, [00:15:00] so schedule in some proactive rest time.

And when I say proactive, I mean like. Literally schedule an app or schedule time away from your computer and phone schedule. Time to go to a restorative class of some kind. You know, really fit it into your schedule and make it a non-negotiable priority. Do it anytime that works for you. But in terms of.

Astrology. It might feel the best when the moon moves into cancer Later this week, which will be essentially Thursday and Friday.
