Hi, Astro Lover. Welcome back to Third House Gossip. Today we're gonna talk all about the biggest news of the week and part of the biggest news of the year, and that is Saturn moving into the sign of Aries. This is must know info about Saturn in Aries. So let's talk dates first, and then we're gonna dive into what it means, how to personalize it, and then I have some tips and prompts for you at the end.

So, Saturn has been in the sign of Pisces since March 7th, 2023. And [00:01:00] it's going to dip its toe into the sign of Aries starting May 24th, 2025, at 11:35 PM Eastern time. So Saturn takes roughly about two and a half years, sometimes a little longer depending on the retrograde cycle to move through one sign and when it switches signs.

It's a pretty big deal personally and culturally. So I just wanna be clear that this first dip into Aries is really just a dip. So Saturn is going to be in Aries from basically the end of May to the 1st of September. Then it will retrograde back into Pisces. And it'll come back into Aries to stay for a couple years in February of 2026.

So what we're getting this spring and summer is a preview of what the larger and longer Saturn and Aries cycle is gonna be about. [00:02:00] So it's a great time to observe, to record notes, to watch the news and figure out, hey, what is Saturn and Aries going to be about? And it's gonna come back around next winter.

What I like to do when we have a big planet moving into a new sign is I like to go back in time and think about the last occurrence of Saturn and Aries. The last time it was in this sign, which is approximately 30 years ago. 'cause that's about how long it takes for Saturn to move around the zodiac.

So this brings us to the spring of 1996, through the spring of 1998 is when it was in Aries for the last time it did its, you know, dipping toe into a Taurus and then coming back into Aries kind of like it's doing now. And it finished up its transit through Aries in the spring of 1999. So we've got a good handful of years here that we're looking at, [00:03:00] and one of my favorite ways to kind of.

Orient myself is to look back at the music billboard charts and the movie charts and the toys of the year and the fashion, and to kind of like get a touchstone for what was going on during that time. So I did a little bit of that for you, which was kind of fun to go back in time. Some of the movies that came out during this time were Scream the Craft.

Austin Powers, Goodwill Hunting Titanic And Men in Black were some of the ones I remember. 'cause I was what, 11, 12, 13. During this time. On the charts. We had Hanson, who I was obsessed with. I remember that specifically. We also had the Spice Girls and Jewel and Third Eye Blind and Leanne Rimes and Tony Braxton.

And I think in 1996 the number one song was the Macarena. So hopefully [00:04:00] that'll give you a felt experience of the last time Saturn was an Aries. The toys of the year were like, tickle me, Elmo, and then Tamagotchi. Do you remember that? Those digital pets? I definitely do because I was living in Japan at the time.

And so I had several digital pets and also Furbies were a really big deal back then. What I find really fascinating is the fashion tends to come back around when Saturn also comes back around to the same sign. So if you're around the younger folk, 90, or excuse me, nineties, fashion is back in style, so.

That's pretty funny to me. Also, think about how old you were, where you were living, what was taking up your time, and that's gonna give you a little bit of insight into, you know, what this transit might mean for you. Any memories that you have, any photographs that you have, any major events that occurred, might not [00:05:00] always, but might mirror some of the things that are going to unfold for you this next time around.

So for me, I was in middle school. And I had just undergone an overseas move to Japan, which was a really big deal, and I think we moved three times during this transit of Saturn and Aries for me, which makes sense because I have an ic, which represents my home and family in the sign of Aries. So if I survive this transit without a move, it will be miraculous.

All right. Let's talk about Saturn and Aries basics, and first, let's back up and talk about. What Saturn is. So Saturn is a planet of hard things, literally and figuratively. It is our sense of reality. It's a planet that brings structure and order to our life. It's a planet of foundations and routine. It brings limits and boundaries, and it likes to build [00:06:00] things slowly and build things that endure for a really long time.

So it's a very solid, earthy planet. Saturn's jobs in your chart are to ground you, to help you endure. Also to limit and separate you. Sometimes. Saturn is definitely a maleic planet, so it does bring some challenges. Its job is also to help you mature and to help you build. So a planet is the what that's happening, right?

And the sign is the how it's happening. So Saturn is doing the what, which is building, grounding, enduring structuring, ordering in an Aries way, which is fiery and quick and fast. Another trick I do as an astrologer when I'm trying to figure out what something's going to mean, one way I begin my exploration is by [00:07:00] making a sheet of paper into two columns.

One column says Saturn, one column says, Aries and I write down all the keywords I can think of for each, so a big list of Saturn words and a big list of Aries words. And then I mix and match them, and I word collide them. I mash them together. And until I come up with a couple phrases that help me feel what Saturn and Aries is gonna be about.

So I'm gonna read. My lists, and this can help you start getting a felt experience. So here's some Saturn words, structure limits, foundations, boundaries, trials, long-term, slow endurance, responsibility, reality, discipline, focus, effort, restriction, and caution. And here are some Aries words. And [00:08:00] notice the similarities or the differences.

Initiating impulsive, short term, starting quick, rapid, fast, pushy, bold, direct rash, competitive, high energy, urgent, courageous, and rebellious. So right away we can tell that there is quite. A difference between these two astrological pieces. Saturn is slow and long and enduring and buttoned up, and Aries is not.

Aries is rapid. Aries is pushy. Aries is direct. Aries wants to do things in a quick, impulsive way, and this isn't necessarily bad or anything like that. It's just different than what Saturn is naturally wired to do. So this gives us our first clue that Saturn and Aries might be a little awkward for [00:09:00] Saturn.

It might not be a natural fit, and therefore Saturn things like routines and structures and boundaries and limits and long term effort might be a little awkward too. So a few word collides I came up with when I put some of these words together from the two columns are impulsive structure, short-term effort, urgent restriction, starting foundations.

Pushy limits and rebellious boundaries. We don't typically put those types of words together, but in this case, that's the name of the game. All right, so a couple themes that are coming up when I put these words together include a tension.

There's a tension innately with Saturn and Aries between what works for today versus what works for [00:10:00] tomorrow. So Saturn and Aries is gonna have trouble building something that makes sense for many years to come. It's in an environment where it doesn't have those long-term visions and long-term tools, but it has to get things done quickly.

This is an earth planet put into a hot, fiery, sharp environment, and it has to react and be on its toes. It has to be quick. So that's uncomfortable for Saturn. So there might be some tension in your life between what you feel like you have to take care of today versus what you think is best for you in the future.

And you might have to be like teetering between those things or working towards one and kind of neglecting the other. There can also be an impulsiveness to build. All right. There's an impulsiveness to create new structure and this is not a bad thing. Inherently this can be [00:11:00] really good. You know, Saturn and Pisces has been kind of slow and meandering.

Saturn and areas has a little bit more direction and a little bit more drive and energy, and that can good if you felt in a rut. So you might notice a little bit more courage and oomph to do some stuff. To build some things, but the caution here is not to build a house on shifting sand. So things can be built very quickly, but are they high quality?

Will they last? Hmm. Not so sure.

Another thing that can happen when Saturn is an Aries, the planet of responsibility and taking on duties is saying yes, which is an Aries thing very quickly to a lot of things before really thinking it through.

So when Saturn moves into Aries, you might notice a desire to take on a lot of things and then quickly feel in over your head. So as Saturn dips its toe into Aries for this handful of months. You [00:12:00] might feel an urgency to do something new, to take on a bunch of new duties and to-dos, and I would encourage you to pause and maybe write those things down.

And give it. Give it a wait until Saturn moves into Aries for good in February of 2026. I'm not saying you can't do anything. Just maybe notice the urgency and see if it's really actually urgent or if it's false urgency. That's something that you'll be noticing throughout this transit is this feeling of I have to do it now and just pause and go, is that true?

Do I really have to do it now? Is it really that vital? Another thing is recognizing that the focus of Saturn and Aries, and I've already said this but it's worth repeating, is that the focus is short-term and short-lived. So it's not really interested in the usual Saturn things, of building something that [00:13:00] lasts for many years.

It's more interested in making what works for right now. And finally, Saturn and Aries can be a little bit rebellious. You know, Saturn is usually a rule follower, but when it's put in the sign that belongs to Mars, which likes to kick dust up and take a stand. Saturn and Aries is usually in the charts of people who rebel against the status quo and who also take a stand against things that they feel are unjust and wrong.

All right, so that's a little bit about Saturn and Aries. Now we do need to talk about one technical piece surrounding this placement, and this is called fall, FALL, like you fell down. All right, so Saturn and Aries in is in this technical position called being in fall. Literally like Saturn took a tumble it tripped, it toppled, it's underneath.

[00:14:00] It's in a lower place than before. So in traditional astrology, this. Is called essential dignity or essential deity, and it's basically a determination of strength of a planet. So planets can be in signs that make it really strong or they can be in signs that make it really weak and make it really hard to do its job.

So remember that Saturn's job is to endure, to build, to make foundations. And so when it's in fall or it's in a a place of difficulty, it's. Innate nature, its essence has trouble expressing and so therefore, Saturn has trouble doing its job. Well,

let's think about what it's like when we fall down. 'cause this might help ground the idea a little bit. So imagine that Saturn is walking down the sidewalk and it literally trips and maybe it was holding. Like a, A model airplane [00:15:00] came to me first, so we're just gonna go with that. It made something, it worked really hard on this model airplane and it tripped, and that model airplane and all its little pieces broke and went all over the floor.

So what can happen when Saturn trips, it might get embarrassed, you know? Ooh, did anybody see that? Right? Saturn could get hurt or injured when it trips, it might roll its ankle. Saturn drops what it's carrying, and that thing breaks. Other things that can happen is you might shield yourself or brace yourself to protect yourself from hurting yourself when you fall. That was a lot of saying yourself. And when we fall, we can also just brush it off and keep going.

When Saturn takes a tumble, the things that it is trying to build. Tend to crumble. However, I wanna spin this a little bit and talk about some positives of having planets in fall. Now, when a [00:16:00] planet is in fall, it often represents something that's wrong with society and wrong with culture. It can bring forward the inequalities in our world

so when we have a planet in fall, either natally or transiting like we do with this Saturn and Aries, we are more attuned to what's not working. What's. Unjust. What's qual? Where are there high places and low PA places people put in privileged positions versus people who are neglected and marginalized.

And so when we have a planet in fall natally, we can take on a cause like this as part of our mission in life. Um, when we have planets in fall, they're often turned into superpowers where they decide they wanna serve and help someone else, someone else who [00:17:00] has fallen. They wanna be a helping hand for them because they know what it's like to fall into trip.

So hopefully that makes a little bit of sense. You know, helping those in need is something that planets and Fall are really good at doing. They're also really good at humility, you know, putting themselves in other people's shoes,

and they're also good at seeing what could be done better and what's not working. So what happens when Saturn takes a tumble? Here's a few thoughts or more interpretations on Saturn and Aries because this is the place that Saturn falls. Well, remember its model airplane broke. Okay? So it's gonna show us where that model airplane wasn't so strong in the first place.

Maybe the glue wasn't that great. So cracks in the foundations of things in your life are rapidly going to start to show. Things are going to fall apart [00:18:00] instead of come together. This does not have to be scary. This can be very simple. For example, this is kind of a silly example, but that's okay. It's a not scary example.

I just gave up coffee as you know, 'cause I can't stop talking about how horrific it's, and that has totally destroyed my routines. Okay. That's an example of something falling apart, but I did it by choice and now I have an opportunity to rebuild my routines into a stronger, in a stronger way. Okay. Saturn, things are going to fall apart.

These are structures, boundaries that you've placed, routines that you've created. Workflows that you've created are not suddenly, but gradually going to start showing that, oh, this isn't quite as supportive as I thought it was gonna be. I think I'd like to restructure this. Other things that you might notice [00:19:00] is that you'd like to.

Come up against an authority in a certain area. You might want to rebel against something to go against the advice that an authority has given you and go your own way and make your own rules. That's another Saturn and area's possibility, toppling authority. When something is in fall, we can also, it can kind of be outta sight outta mind and those things can take a backseat or be a lower priority.

So it might be natural for things like long-term focus or structure or discipline to just not have as much of a place in your life as they have previously. And maybe that would feel good and supportive. For right now, we'll see, won't we?

Now there's one other technical piece that's kind of. I don't know if enhancing is the right word, but maybe [00:20:00] exaggerating is the right word.

There's another piece that's exaggerating Saturn and Aries, and that is the fact that Neptune has also recently moved into Aries, and so when Saturn enters Aries here in a few days, it's gonna get really, really close to Neptune in Aries. Now for those of you who want the technical pieces, their conjunction or when they're together is not gonna be exact until February of 2026, but they're gonna be close together and it's gonna be really hard to pick them apart.

I. I think Neptune in Aries simply exaggerates Saturn's fall status. So Neptune has a way of disintegrating things, of eroding things, of making things fall apart. And we already have that signature with Saturn in Aries. And so I think that the fact that Neptune is right there, it's just going to speed this process up.

Make it [00:21:00] quicker and make it more obvious. So Saturn, or excuse me, Neptune is kind of like waves lapping at the shores of Saturn, and it eventually eats away at the rock or the wood until it's rotten and you can't stand on it anymore. Together there's a story about seemingly solid structures or supports weakening and showing us where things really weren't as strong as we thought they were.

This is also a story about. Fantasy versus reality. This is a story about deception. This is a story about not being sure what's real and or what's true and what's false. So I wanna bring that into the mix as well. Just bring that into your awareness.

Sometimes when Neptune and Saturn interact, we can see that something really isn't what it seems. It's not really what we thought it was gonna be, and in some ways there can be a little bit of [00:22:00] disappointment when something washes away.

So where is Saturn going to be doing? It's reordering, restructuring, destroying, and rebuilding.

To be honest in your life, that's gonna depend on where Aries is in your chart. So take a minute to find Aries and what house it is on, or what house it occupies, and think about what topics of life, what life areas that house governs for you.

So Saturn and Aries will be touching on fifth house topics for me. So this is the area of life where Saturn will be doing, its restructuring, some reordering and possibly some rebelling.

I hope that gave you a good feel or idea about what Saturn and Aries means. But again, you are your own best astrologer, and so as Saturn moves into Aries on, what is it, May 24th, and hangs out there until [00:23:00] September 1st.

Just be an observer. Take notes. Notice what's different, notice what's changed, and notice like your workflow and your focus and your discipline, and notice how that is shifting . So a couple tips for you. One thing that I'm gonna try to do is to make friends with short bursts of activity. Saturn is typically a long, slow distance type of planet to bring in a running metaphor, but Aries is more of a sprinter. If you have a really big project that you need to complete during this transit of Saturn and Aries take heart, it can still be completed, but you may need to complete it in a bunch of short sprints put together.

So be curious about short bursts of activity and how powerful they can be when you put them in big numbers. I also want you to just enjoy the influx of courage that this [00:24:00] area's energy can bring. And I encourage you to build in places and spaces that may have previously scared you. So think about, you know, what you've been avoiding, what you've been delaying, and maybe Saturn and Aries will give you the gumption or the moxie to start doing that thing.

I think it's also important to reflect, and this is like. A big one, but reflect on the nature of impermanence when Saturn is an Aries. So picking up books around that topic, reading about that, getting comfortable with the idea that all things arise and all things pass away is a great thing to do, like philosophically and spiritually as this transit is unfolding.

With Saturn and Neptune interacting together and this impulse to say yes to something fresh, which I want you to say yes to, just double check [00:25:00] the terms before agreeing because there can be some fogginess there. Another thing that Saturn and Aries can be good for is just doing the thing, trying the thing, even if you don't feel like you have the quote, right?

Experience or the right training. And that's another thing is a planet in fall feels like, or it might tell itself a story that it doesn't know enough or it's not smart enough, or it doesn't have the right degree. But it can do the thing anyway, so I encourage you to try the thing even if you don't feel like you are super equipped for the job.

And I will give you a couple prompts. You know, journaling with Saturn and Aries is probably the best way to get information about Saturn and Aries for you. If you don't know, I do have an astrological journaling webinar on my website. I'll pop it in the show notes. It's called Guided. You can find it@astrologywithclear.com slash guided, [00:26:00] but that, that'll give you a really good rundown of how to do this process.

But I have a. Few questions that you can pose to Saturn and Aries, and then Saturn and Aries can answer you. The first one is, what am I ready to do that I've been dragging my feet on? Number two, where am I ready to take a stand? Number three, who am I here to help? Number four, what do I wanna tear down and rebuild?

I. And the last one, number five, where can I give myself permission to work in short sprints? All right, Astro Lover. I hope this was helpful. Happy Saturn in Aries. It's gonna be an interesting ride, and I will talk to you soon. Much love. [00:27:00]
