Journaling Prompts:
What does emotional growth and maturity mean to me? What would that feel and look like in my daily life? What’s a baby step towards making this my reality?
If what I wanted happened, do I have the capacity to hold it? How can I expand my capacity to receive the things I want?
Where am I hiding and potentially overprotecting myself? Is this behavior slowing or blocking my growth?
Think about something that slightly activates you. What would expanding my comfort zone in an area that activates me actually look like? How can I communicate to myself that I’m safe?

Hi, Astro Lover. Welcome back to Third House Gossip. I'm so happy to have you here. We're gonna talk all about Jupiter in Cancer today, but first, just a little update. I recently got back from a writing retreat. I'm using quotations. My husband had some training to do outta state for work, and I decided to tag along.
So we were in the mountains of Western North Carolina for a few days and I snuggled up in an Airbnb and dove as much into my book edits as I possibly could, and it was [00:01:00] very productive. I am proud of myself. I've gotta say. I'm feeling pretty good about where my manuscript is at. I just finished. Editing all of the chapters on the planet.
So each planet has its own chapter. And that is complete, which feels like a really big success. And now the harder part starts where I have to edit the pieces about explaining how to use the chapters on the planets. So a lot of technical writing is in my future and trying to explain astrology and easy language is coming up for me.
So hopefully Mercury will be on my side anyways. How are you? How is Saturn and Aries feeling? Saturn and Aries has been super interesting for me. I'm noticing a lot of changes that I wanna make in my business and different people I wanna serve that I wanna pivot what I'm [00:02:00] doing and I wanna pivot now.
That's that Aries impatience for you. I'm trying to wait, um, to do anything major until I finish my first draft and send that in so I've got a little less than two months before I can act on my Saturn and Aries ambitions. But if you've been noticing anything new, popping in any sense of urgency or like do it now energy, that's definitely Saturn and Aries at work.
Now we have a very different vibe to talk about with Jupiter and cancer. I've called this episode Grow with the Flow. That's a Jupiter word and a cancer word mashed together. And I really like the idea that that brings in growing with ease, growing with the flow, growing in a way that's organic and natural.
So Jupiter is gonna move into cancer on Monday, June 9th, unless you're in Australia, it'll be on the 10th. Now, this is a big [00:03:00] deal. Jupiter takes about one year to move through every sign, and it's been in the sign of Gemini since May 25th, 2024, and now it's moving into cancer, and it's gonna be in cancer for roughly the next year.
I thought we could start this episode out with a little. Gemini recap. So Jupiter and Gemini, recap so we can get a feel for the difference between Jupiter and Gemini and Jupiter and cancer. 'cause I think it's gonna feel very different in your body and in your life. 'cause they're very different energies.
So Jupiter and Gemini has wanted to do all the things. It's signed up for all of the classes. It has joined all of the communities. It's easily distracted by shiny ideas and objects, and in that way, sometimes it's growth can be a little bit inhibited because it's not super focused. It is a master [00:04:00] multitasker and it's not quite clear on what it wants to be, where it wants to go.
And so it does a lot of different things and in that way it kind of dilutes its Jupiter power. Jupiter and Gemini is also really mental. It's really cognitive, really cerebral, super curious and brainy and all about gathering information. I have taken or bought, at least I haven't finished them, but I've bought so many online courses this year.
It's kind of embarrassing. Definitely a Jupiter and Gemini thing. Jupiter and Gemini is also pretty social, and that's kind of a difference between how it's gonna be in cancer. Jupiter and cancer is a little bit more introverted. But Jupiter and Gemini is quite extroverted. It wants to make connections, it wants to collaborate, and this has been really great for me personally because I am [00:05:00] so introverted and Jupiter and Gemini has actually pushed me to join a writing community, which has been such a great decision for me.
And I typically would never do that, but I think Jupiter and Gemini pushed me to grow in a social way.
Okay, so what about Jupiter and cancer? How is this gonna be different? Let's do what we did with Saturn and Aries, and I'm gonna list my favorite Jupiter keywords, my favorite cancer keywords, and then we're gonna mash them together and see what phrases we come up with.
Feel free to do this on your own. It's really fun. Okay, here's some Jupiter words. Growth, advancement, abundance. Wealth, increase faith, belief, meaning wisdom and optimism. And here are some cancer words. [00:06:00] Emotional, gentle, vulnerable. Nurturing, caring, protective, sensitive, safe, and comfort. So I had fun pairing some of these words together, and here's a few of the phrases that I came up with about Jupiter in Cancer Emotional growth.
Yes, please sign me up for that safe advancement. Sign me up for that too. Comfort, abundance. Sign me up for that. Three. So far so good, right? Sensitive wisdom. Hmm. Gentle optimism. Vulnerable faith. Nurturing wealth. Protective belief. So you can already feel a slower, richer, deeper vibe with Jupiter in cancer.[00:07:00]
There's something very nurturing about this placement. Very slow, but not in a frustrating way, in a luxuriating way.
There's something comforting and safe about this placement, like a warm cozy blanket or a cup of tea, right? So compared to Jupiter and Gemini, Jupiter and cancer is much more in touch with its feelings. It's not so think through stuff. It's more feel through stuff. It's less social and a little bit more it in word's.
Not necessarily a hermit, but it takes a little bit more time for this Jupiter to come out of its shell. And it's more interested in deep bonds and deep connections instead of making a lot of surface connections. In my opinion, Jupiter and Cancer [00:08:00] will have more depth and staying power when it comes to creating and growing and developing something that lasts because it acts more slowly than Jupiter and Gemini.
But with more intentionality, more juice, and more sustainability. So this is good news. If you run a business or a community, I think Jupiter and Cancer will have more clear direction than Jupiter and Gemini and will have more resources and support to deepen the work that you're already doing and to broaden your reach in a way that feels comfortable.
Jupiter and cancer is super fertile. This is a water sign. It's moist. We need that moisture for things to grow. And it's all about making connections and alliances. Those are Jupiter words that not only promote you, but feel like family. So cancer rules, family, cancer rules, home, [00:09:00] and those really intimate connections.
And Jupiter and cancer is about making more of those. Jupiter in cancer is really nurturing. It's soothing. It's also about comfort and. Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is, is my comfort zone, and I'm curious about how Jupiter and cancer thinks and feels about the concept of comfort zones.
I think left to its own devices. Jupiter and Cancer would stay in its pajamas in its bedroom and just watch Netflix and read books and drink tea. Stay in its comfort zone, but. That doesn't really help Jupiter and Cancer do the work that it's here to do, which is to nurture and to connect and to grow. So I'm curious if Jupiter and Cancer instead about being stuck in a comfort zone or staying in a comfort zone [00:10:00] is about expanding your comfort zone.
Expanding is a Jupiter word, comfort zone is a cancer idea. So not necessarily stepping out of your comfort zone and activating yourself, but slowly and gently expanding your comfort zone so that you can take up more space and meet, be more visible and more out there. Just food for thought, just something to think about.
I'm gonna be playing with expanding my comfort zone in my business by getting back on social, having another book come out. I'm not sure exactly when it's gonna come out, but I think Jupiter will still be in cancer at that time. I. And those things stretch me. They require me to be more visible, but I hope to do it.
My plan is to do those things, like to reenter Instagram, et cetera, very intentionally and slowly and in a way that's sustainable. And when I have activation come up in my body and sensation come up in my [00:11:00] body to pause in the moment and to attend to that before I do anything else. Another technical piece that we need to talk about is this idea of Jupiter going from a weak place to a strong place.
So in traditional astrology, Gemini is the place of Jupiter's detriment. So when a planet is in detriment. It really can't function optimally. And for Jupiter, that means its growth is inhibited or impeded. Or in Gemini's case, it's kind of diluted because it's got so many branches going in different directions.
I. So Jupiter is moving out of that place of detriment to its place of exaltation. So cancer is a sign of Jupiter's exaltation. This means that Jupiter is going from a low place to a very high place, and therefore Jupiter things are gonna be more successful. [00:12:00] And more prominent and obvious and have good outcomes.
So this means Jupiter stuff like growth, advancement, wealth, and also what Jupiter rules in your personal birth chart are likely to improve. Again, a planet in detriment can't function optimally. But a planet in exaltation is like a person being in the right place at the right time. It has power, it has influence, it has friends in high places.
It has agency and choices, and it has resources. So this is a really positive thing and why many astrologers are looking forward to Jupiter and cancer is because of this technical shift. Now, it's not all sunshine and roses. I do need to bring in a bit of a reality check with Jupiter and cancer. And remember that Saturn is an Aries, which is a cardinal sign, and cancer [00:13:00] is also a cardinal sign, which means they make a square.
So as soon as Jupiter moves into cancer, it's gonna make a square to the planet's, Saturn and Aries. And this, the exact date for this is June 15th, I believe. And this is significant and it's going to really flavor the very beginning of Jupiter's travels through cancer. So I don't expect it to be an immediate, like sigh of relief or an immediate boost.
I expect it to be, uh, somewhat of a boost, but also a. A checklist, like a reality check of, oh, okay, we wanna grow, we wanna do this, we wanna have more comfort here. Well, these are the steps, the Saturn steps that we need to take to make that happen. Let's break this down a second. Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth, improvement, and what we hope for.
Saturn is a planet of limitations, responsibility, discipline, and effort. Jupiter is a yes [00:14:00] planet. Saturn is a no planet or a not yet planet, or a not like that planet. Jupiter is idealistic. Saturn is realistic. Jupiter is uninhibited. Saturn is cautious. When these two planets are in a tense relationship with each other, there is tension in the sky and therefore within us, around where we wanna go and where we are, what we want to do, and what we have to do, what our dreams are, and what our reality is.
This is a call to get real about what you want. To get real about the Jupiter and Cancer Dream, how do you wanna feel? What relationships do you wanna nurture? What type of growth do you wanna foster? What type of wealth do you wanna nurture?
What does that mean to you? Get real about what that is and then Saturn it. Okay. I hear you, Jupiter. You've got a dream, but [00:15:00] how exactly does that work? Can you break that down into practical steps?
I think this is also about emotionally committing to what we want. Like for me, I wanna be an astrologer and I wanna live comfortably doing my craft. That's what I want, right? So this Jupiter Saturn Square is encouraging me to reach for that Jupiter dream, but be very practical and strategic about how I get there.
I can't just fly by the seat of my pants and hope for the best. I have to have a step-by-step process. It can be easy to get discouraged with a Saturn Square, but I believe that Saturn wants things to benefit us long-term and to be sustainable. This aspect is really good for making long-term plans and specifically making long-term plans that are achievable and realistic.[00:16:00]
I also think that Saturn and Aries is gonna bring Jupiter and cancer to its comfort edges and push on them a little bit. So this is what we were talking about in terms of expanding your comfort zone and what that looks like, what that means, and how you would actually do that without super activating yourself.
So I think Saturn in Aries is gonna bring Jupiter and Cancer plenty of opportunities to push itself to an edge that feels slightly uncomfortable, but not too much. I. Hopefully that's making sense, but you are always your best astrologer in my opinion. So I've created some journaling prompts for you to kind of feel out what Jupiter and cancer means for you and how you wanna use it and connect with it.
First prompt is, what does emotional growth and maturity mean to me? What would that [00:17:00] feel and look like in my daily life? And what's a baby step towards making this my reality? So we talk about being emotionally mature, emotionally intelligent, and all of that stuff, but what does that actually mean in practical day-to-day terms for you?
What would change? What would that look like in your relationship with your spouse or your kids or your friends? Write those things out. Next prompt. If what I wanted happened, do I have the capacity to hold it? How can I expand my capacity to receive the things I want? Remember, Jupiter and cancer is rich and it has a lot to share, a lot of good gifts to give.
But what if your fists are closed, right? So working on opening the hand, et cetera, that's an analogy, but what does that look like to you? [00:18:00] Next prompt? Where am I hiding and potentially overprotecting myself? Is this behavior slowing or blocking my growth? So again, like I said a few minutes ago, Jupiter and Cancer left to its own devices or maybe on a kinda low vibe, shadowy level.
Would love to just stay in its pajamas and watch Netflix and read a book and drink tea and snuggle. Okay? But this is going to limit Jupiter's ability to do good work in the world. So I want you to think about where you're hiding, maybe where you're being. A little too tender with yourself and see where you can make some small tweaks.
Again, I want you to stay comfortable and stay regulated, but still expand that comfort zone a little bit. Speaking of the last prompt [00:19:00] says, think about something that slightly activates you. For me, that's Instagram. Okay. Just as a small example, what would expanding my comfort zone in an area that activates me actually look like, how can I communicate to myself that I'm safe?
Right. So for me, it would be like opening the app and pausing right away and feeling the sensations in my body and staying with those sensations until they shift. Right. Communicating to myself that I'm not gonna die because I'm having these sensations right? For you, it could be something totally different.
Maybe it's sending an email to your list, your subscribers, or maybe it's having a difficult conversation with a loved one. Maybe it's speaking in public, you know, whatever it is, we all have something. What would expanding your comfort zone in [00:20:00] that area look like? What are the steps? What would you actually need to start doing in order for that to happen?
Okay. That's all I have for today about Jupiter in cancer. This should be a really lovely time period. Also, make sure you check and see what house Jupiter will be traveling through. That's where it's going to be bringing most of its growth and attention and gifts, but it's also gonna ricochet to the Sagittarius and the Pisces houses in your chart.
So have a check at all three of those. Those are gonna be the trifecta of cancer growth this year, and enjoy much love.
